A stately welcome

Today we visited Carlyle Lake and enjoyed soaking up some sunshine, and then we visited Vandalia State House; the old capital of Illinois before Springfield. We even saw the room where Abraham Lincoln gave his first statement on slavery. We also visited the local museum, which helped add to the context of this beautiful area. This evening we got together for a lovely meal at Kathy and Dave Mulvin's house. Tomorrow we are speaking at the District Assembly, which will be our largest audience yet!

  1. Just so your records are accurate, it is spelled Carlyle Lake. Looking forward to hearing you speak on Friday am at the St. Clair County East Rotary meeting.
