Wow! I'm not sure how to follow on from Roberta's epic autobiography, so I'll try and keep mine brief - Hi, I'm Rob, I'm 28 and I work in Peterborough as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in a busy inner-city GP Practice. I see patients with undifferentiated, undiagnosed conditions and subsequently assess, advise, refer or prescribe medications as required. I enjoy the responsibility of my work together with the variety of patients and conditions I get to see on a daily basis. I'm passionate about the development and regulation of Nurse Practitioners within the UK.
Outside of work, my main passion is the theatre. Having trained professionally in musical theatre from a young age, I've performed in many productions around the UK. I'm currently choreographer for my local society and we're due to perform 'My Fair Lady' in March/April. I go the West End as often as possible and try to see the new shows on Broadway annually too. In 2007 I served as a Judge on the Musical Theatre panel for the prestigious Olivier Awards in London. When I return from Illinois, I'm looking forward to starting rehearsals for the 'Hot Mikado'.
I'm very grateful to Rotary for being given the opportunity to come to Illinois and am excited to meet new people, explore new places and learn more about the healthcare system in the USA.
Rob :)
